Swimming instructions are given for one hour each day to children enrolled in our Senior Camp Program. . The children wear ski belts and are closely supervised in Countryside’s 4-foot deep heated above-ground pool. Children enrolled in the Toddler Program or Junior Program will have a variety of water play activities and will not swim in the above ground pool.

Nature study & gardening give children experience in planting and caring for vegetables and flowers.

Outdoor games & sports provide ample opportunity for fun and exercise. The older children have physical education including group games and exercises. And, the younger children participate in a variety of gross motor activities and a variety of games.

Arts and crafts include a wide assortment of creative activities such as drawing, painting, collage, and clay.

Pony rides are given daily on Countryside’s two ponies, Khemosabie and Noelle.

Montessori class is for all children, both those with and without previous Montessori school experience. The class is taught by an AMS-Certified teacher using the special Montessori materials in the regular Montessori classroom. The class provides children with hands-on experiences. The curriculum includes practical life, sensorial, mathematics, science, and geography. It is based on the educational principles of Dr. Maria Montessori and helps to promote independence, confidence, self-discipline, and joy of learning in children.

A daily sing-a-long and an end-of-program dramatic presentation for the parents add to their fun and games.
